GOLF COURSES
Mauritius har ett antal banor, några med mycket hög internationell nivå.
Till och från banorna så tar man taxi eller hyr en bil.
Normalt sett är det inga svårigheter att få starttider.
På Hotel Villas Mon Plaisir har vi fyra golfset (½-set), två dam och 2 herr. Alla våra gäster som bor där får låna dem utan kostnad.

Ile aux Cerfs Golf Course is on its very own tropical island in the blue Indian Ocean, fringed by white sands with a backdrop of green mountains – truly one of the world’s great golf sett.
Ile aux Cerfs Golf Course is destined to become one of the wonders of the game. All 18 holes have views of the ocean – some with glimpses across clearings through the trees; others by coming close to the shore.
There are nine lakes in all, with a number of holes requiring tee shots across sea inlets to the fairways. The water and the expansive bunkers of indigenous white sand set off the natural backdrop of trees and vegetation.

Designed by Ernie Els, Four Seasons Golf Club Mauritius at Anahita is a 7,580-yard, 18-hole, par-72 championship course with large fairways and five sets of tees. Six stunning oceanfront holes culminate in a final shot that is among the most spectacular in the world.
Built to USGA standards, it is the first of its kind in Mauritius. Carefully woven into the tropical sanctuary, the course is set against lush mountains and fringed by the vast crystal-clear lagoon.
The Golf Academy offers instruction and private lessons, and the Clubhouse is equipped to enhance any golfer’s game. The club also features a driving range, putting green and Pro Shop. Tee times are available from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm daily. One-hour golf clinics are offered daily on a complimentary basis to Resort guests.

‘The Links Golf Course’, open since the 1st of November 2002, it completes the Belle Mare Plage Resort with a second 18-hole golf course which differs greatly from the Legens course as it is inspired by the Links course with rolling fairways. the Links course is a Par 71 with 5927 m, and the signature hole is the 18th situated along the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. The Clubhouse offers a bar and all the facilities expected, along with a beautiful practice fairway overlooking the hills of the Mauritian landscape. Like its twin the Legend, it offers a Golf academy with lessons and coaching on the course by professional and qualified instructors. Use of club cars is obligatory.

The Gymkhana Club, one of the best golf courses in Mauritius, is the oldest 18-hole Golf Course on the island. Its first Golf Competition was played in 1902 and for many years, the club was run by the British Navy. At present, the club has about 1900 full members. The course measures 4,870 metres S.S.S. 68, 6 holes Par 3, 10 holes Par 4 and 2 holes Par 5.
It is located in the verdant centre of the island, close to the plateaux town of Vacoas, where the temperatures are cooler than on the coast.

Unforgettable is the only word to describe a round of golf on the course at Paradis where the fairways and greens curl along the shoreline of a spectacular bay against a backdrop of majestic mountains. The claim that this is one of the most beautiful golf courses in Mauritius is a valid one.
Built within the resort’s grounds, the 18-hole Par 72 golf course stretches along 5,924 metres between the iconic Morne Mountain and the crystal-clear lagoon of the Morne Peninsula.
Much of the creative design of some bunkers and fairways is attributable to international golf legend Tony Johnstone who has spent some years playing the course through its many evolutionary stages.
The smooth green fairways are dotted with the bright colours of bougainvillea, flamboyants, poinsettias and araucarias, while the royal palms, filao and coconut trees complete the picture of tropical island style.
